Our Organization

EWGA Orlando was formed in 1995 and operates as a local chapter of the EWGA (www.ewga.com) ,
an international not-for-profit organization formed in 1991 for the purpose of providing opportunities
for women to learn, play and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life.

Our events take place in and around Central Florida. You are welcome to play with us as a guest
and learn more about our wonderful organization. We offer both competitive (stroke) and social
(scramble or other format) golf, so all skill levels are welcome. Each month, we play at a different
course location, but also maintain a special relationship with our own golf club network which you
can learn more about by scrolling down this page.

OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Part of the EWGA Orlando mission is to work with community organizations that serve to promote
the game of golf as a positive influence on the youth of our country. This year, our board has selected
two such organizations that are making a difference in the lives of young people as well as enhancing
the reputation of the Central Florida area as an important center of golfing excellence.

During our 2009 Tee Off event, Event Chairwoman Pam Stewart presented a check on behalf of EWGA Orlando to Emilee Klein, Head Coach UCF Women's Golf Team, and Bob Biggers, Director of Tee Lo Golf.

UCF Women's Golf Team

The UCF Women's Golf Team, led by Emilee Klein, former LPGA professional and winner of the 1996 Weetabix Women's British Open among other tournament wins, made their first NCAA Regional appearance under Klein a year ago. This year's schedule is just as tough as UCF will participate in events hosted by four teams that finished last year in the top 25, and from conferences including the ACC, Big Ten, Pac-10 and SEC.

The Knights will also play host to some of the nation's most elite teams for the third-consecutive season at their home event in March - the UCF Challenge.

The UCF Women's Golf Team is setting a standard of excellence for young women players as well as contributing to the overall success of the UCF Athletic Program. More information about the team, their current roster and schedule (including the Red Tail event) can be found on their website at
UCF Athletics/Women's Golf.

TEE-LO Golf Program

Robert Biggers, former career Army First Sergeant and resident of Tangelo Park conceived the TEE-LO program in an effort to address social issues in the Tangelo Park area of Orlando. The program was designed to meet needs of children to acquire positive character traits, self esteem, self-discipline, and academic success through exposure to the game of golf. Combining golf and life skills is the driving force of the TEE-LO program.

The mission of TEE-LO Golf is to teach the game of golf, its etiquette, and life skills to children of diversified backgrounds. The organization believes that learning the game of golf will help inspire and develop positive character traits. By participating in the program the children will develop life skills as well as golf skills. Tee-Lo will make golf available to all youths in Central Florida who wish to participate. The result will be youth who are gentlemen and gentlewomen.

Here are some photos from their annual golf tournament, taken at Orange County National Golf Course in August 2008, which shows the EWGA team members with Bob Biggers and Eva Mae Brinson (Program Administrator), as well as Bob with his beautiful daughter, a champion collegiate golfer in her own right.
